Giving Back to Our Communities

One of the best parts of working for Banning Engineering, Inc. is our commitment to the communities we serve. Jeff Banning is very involved in many community organizations and is a well-known entity at non-profit organization, municipal and county meetings.

However, it is much deeper than that. We have employees who go out of their way to support our many communities, as well as the many non-profit organizations in and around Indiana. As a company, we assist with those activities by providing 16 hours, per year, to each employee for Volunteer Time Off (VTO). This benefit allows employees to take time off to assist with the many needs of nonprofit organizations.

Our employees have thoroughly enjoyed this benefit and have given countless hours supporting local food banks/raising money for local food drives, 4-H, Kiwanis, tutoring programs, Purdue project judging, back-to-school supply events, working local community events, and even assisting with catastrophic events.

When the Town of Pendleton suffered severe tornado damage, Banning employees immediately began asking “What can we do to help Pendleton?” Employees immediately jumped into action and spent several days providing service to clean up from the debris. The following year Pendleton received a grant from the Department of Natural Resources and the South Madison Community Foundation to replace trees lost by the tornado. Again, Banning employees stepped up to assist with planting the trees. Even yours truly found out that a shovel still fit his hands and helped.

We are a client and employee relationship focused business and how we serve our communities on a volunteer basis is one way we prove what we stand for. If you or your community has a need, we might be able to assist with, please contact me at jhenson@banning-eng.com.
