We were honored to partner with Family Promise in designing their sanitary sewer for their Almost Home overnight shelter. Family Promise is an organization working to transform the lives of families experiencing homelessness and poverty in Hendricks County. To achieve sustainable independence, their organization provides housing, stability services, and homelessness prevention for those in need. The organization has a Resource Center in Plainfield that serves as a place for those experiencing homelessness and poverty to access affordable housing, child care, transportation, employment assistance, and life skills teaching. Individuals can shower, do laundry, and access computers and phones from the hub. The hub is also an address where children can be picked up for school. Each Family Promise initiative aims to move families from poverty to sustainable independence. Not only does Family Promise provide safe spaces for families experiencing homelessness, but they also work to end and prevent homelessness in Hendricks County.
Family Promise held a Community Open house for its overnight shelter, Almost Home, on Saturday, July 30th. The organization purchased a 5,000 sq/ft home with seven bedrooms to provide a place where families can recover from the trauma of homelessness and begin to rebuild their lives. Banning Engineering donated $10,000 worth of services for designing the home’s sanitary sewer system. Check out the photos below from the Almost Home Community Open House.
Working with such an incredible organization is a privilege, and we are thankful for its staff and volunteers. We encourage you to check out their impact and learn how you can donate or become involved with Family Promise. There are multiple ways to give to Family Promise – Monetary Donations, In-Kind Donations, Donating a Vehicle, or donating an item from the organization’s Wish List. Interested in volunteering?
