Banning Engineers Attend Purdue Road School

Banning Engineering was proud to attend Purdue Road School, where our own Mark Butler joined Scott Singleton of the Town of Plainfield and Kyle Zak of Terracon Consultants, Inc. to present “Marl Madness: Plainfield’s Slam Dunk Solution.” The session highlighted a key challenge on Plainfield’s Northwest Perimeter Parkway project—navigating poor soils and a thick organic layer beneath an embankment and box culvert that posed settlement risks during construction. Together, the team walked through the innovative approach used to overcome these conditions, ultimately delivering a solution that not only addressed the issue but exceeded expectations.
