Danville Sewer Mapping Project Packages
The Town of Danville Indiana has a sanitary sewer system that serves a population of over 9,000 people. Currently they rely on utility personnel’s knowledge of the system for identifying problems or problem areas. The system was collected and assembled onto different software approximately 10 years ago. However, the horizontal accuracy appeared to be approximately three feet and the majority of the structures were missing vast amounts of data. The software where the data was hosted also left a lot to be desired, as it was cumbersome and not user friendly. Banning Engineering is performing the collection and processing of the system over the next couple of months. We will also be assisting the Town in learning the new software so that they can easily maintain their own data. Additionally, we will be providing recommendations to the Town in regards to setting GIS standards for new construction.
