On Friday, May 30, in Salem, Indiana, Radius Indiana celebrated the official ribbon cutting of the much-anticipated Monon South Trail.

The ceremony took place at the trailhead, located at the corner of Small Street and Main Street, next to the restored historic boxcar. The site features a shelter, restrooms, and adjacent vehicle parking to serve future trail users.

The event was graciously hosted by Salem Mayor Justin Green and drew a strong crowd of supporters and partners. Notable attendees included Jeff Quyle, President and CEO of Radius Indiana, as well as representatives from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and board members of Southern Indiana Trailways.

We’re proud to recognize the efforts of our design and construction partners: Clark Dietz, Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group, and MAC Construction, whose collaboration brought this project to life.

This ribbon cutting is just the beginning. We look forward to future celebrations as the Monon South Trail continues to expand, bringing long-term benefits and new connections to Southern Indiana’s growing communities.
