Mooresville Schools

Mooresville Schools needed to expand parking for their campus.  With area running out an innovative approach of converting the existing detention basin into a parking lot was utilized.  Underground detention was proposed to replace the current dry detention basin.  The complicated pond routing and stormwater detention calculations were completed to prove the In addition, areas downstream of the existing outlet flooded frequently.  To combat this issue, over 2,100 linear feet of strom sewer was installed to divert the stormwater to a more adequate outlet.  Utility conflicts, limitations on grade, and a quick turnaround made this project especially challenging.  The resulting parking lots will increase overall parking by 275 spots as well as relieve long standing flooding issues in the area.
