The Banning Engineering team has just completed the 2020 Duke Energy Site Readiness program. The program is designed to identify, improve, and increase awareness of industrial sites within the Duke Energy Indiana service area. The program started in 2013 and has helped develop 34 industrial sites. As part of the program, Banning Engineering evaluates the economic development potential of the site and prepares conceptual layouts and recommendations to make the site more advantageous for development.
This year’s sites included:
- A 30‐acre parcel located near Quality Court in Charlestown, next to the Charlestown Industrial Park
- A 208‐acre parcel located at 6602 E. U.S. Highway 52 in Morristown
- A 64‐acre parcel located at 1277 State Road 13 in Wabash
- A 160‐acre parcel that will be an expansion of the Midwest Industrial Park near Round Barn Road in Richmond
Our favorite part of Duke Energy Site Readiness is always meeting and celebrating with the community during the final presentation. In this COVID‐era, things have obviously changed a little, but we made the most of it and thanks to Zoom, we conducted our final presentations virtually and we have a Brady Bunch‐style photo to mark the occasion.
It is always exciting to see the future development of the sites. Just last week, 2018 Duke Energy Site Readiness site, Creekside Corporate Park in Zionville, had a major announcement. Rahal Letterman Lanigan’s $20 million global headquarters would be locating the park.
If you have a Duke Energy‐served site you think would benefit from participating in the program, more information is available on the Duke Energy Indiana website.
